It's 2am and your child is sick...

Let's Give People That Care For Children Medication Dosing Information
The goal for this engagement was to meet guidelines and best practices for communicating dosing information in a modern easy to use application
The challenge for this engagement was to create an app that allowed parents to quickly get dosing information to ensure they are giving the correct does to children. Parents would be using the application in bright and low light conditions with a priority on being discreet so it could be used at night when they are up in the middle of the night with a screaming child creating a high stress environment which leads to mistakes.
Conducted a UX audit of existing application to identify experience pain points. Analyzed the mobile application impersonating various personas from onboarding, setting up child profiles, identifying medication with a camera, recording the dose and sharing medication doses for child profiles with caregivers, family and friends.
I created a design system that powered both a light and a dark mode to ensure that no bright lights distracted little ones in the when the app is needed at night. Through card sorting, a new simple navigation was created unifying and consolidating multiple navigation items. New color palette was implemented as well as all new UI from the ground up including new optimized flows.
The next step will be to do more broad user testing with parents, teachers and family members to identify new features as well as identify any usability optimizations.
